The Eurozone is comprised of 19 member states (aka countries), has a population of over 330 million people, and a combined GDP of $11 trillion. As you can imagine, it wields heavy influence from a macroeconomic perspective.
The Euro, which is the Eurozone's legal tender, has been trashed over the last year and a half, losing over a quarter of its value against the dollar. This no doubt has been a result of loose monetary policy which has only been exacerbated by the ECB's most recent quantitative easing measures. Here's a chart of the EUR/USD to illustrate:
